It’s a few hours before Rivky’s birthday party and she is a very excited little girl. The table is all set, we bought a new CD to play at the party and some of the balloons have been blown up. Malky is out getting the food for the party (bagels with the assorted spreads) and the cake.

I had a nice Father’s day so far, Rivky made me a nice card and Malky got me a nice one as well. As for my present, I got the GPS a few months ago and have been really happy with it as I mentioned back when I got the receiver.

It’s a busy week coming up here at the Benedict household. Tuesday is Rivky’s graduation from Pre 1A (Kindergarten for the rest of the world - I think) then on Wednesday I head to our nation’s capital for a few days to exhibit at a conference . On Thursday, Rivky has a ABC party in school where each child has to bring a show and tell item and snack starting with a designated letter. Thankfully for both things, Rivky got the letter C. And finally on Sunday, Rivky has her birthday party, family style. It’s a little late but works out best for the family.

The only thing that disappoints me is that our video camera broke and it’s going to cost about the same amount to fix as what we bought it for so we decided that it’s not worth it to fix so I won’t be able to see the graduation live or on video. Oh well, I guess that I’ll have to suffice on the pictures and any video that Malky may take with the digital camera.

It seems that Playboy magazine is now being sold in Indonesia. The catch however is that they are being sold without any of the pictures that are usually included in the publication, since the indonesian government considers those pictures immoral. I guess the men that will be buying Playboy over there will really be buying it for the articles

There are few sites that look as distinctive as Slashdot does. To say that it was an eyesore would be charitable. A several weeks ago they announced a contest for a redesign of their site with some very strict criteria. About a week ago the winner of the contest was announced and from the screenshot the new design looked pretty good. This morning I was drinking my coffee and eating breakfast and I went to slashdot only to discover that they have finally implemented the new design. Now that I have seen the redesign in the wild I like it even more than I did before. The site is actually useable now. If you have not visited the site yet, I suggest that you give it a look.
